- For less than half the cost of Temperpedic, it's definitely worth the price. The 12 inch mattress is a little firmer than the high priced competition, so it might be wise to consider adding a topper or exploring options other than the 12 incher. I was concerned about the listed shipping weight and being able to move and assemble the bases but that proved to be no problem. The mattresses arrived several days before the bases, so I spread them out in a spare room for two days to allow them to expand to full size and offgas (this is very important). When the bases arrived, the truck driver helped unload them from the truck trailer into the bed of my pickup and from there I moved them to the front…
