- I bought this "soft luxury memory foam" mattress trying to deal with an existing bed that had one too many toppers. I would hate to think what firm is if this is soft. It does provide excellent support but I had to add a 3" pad to the top to soften. It takes more than 24 hours to reach it's true size. I have been told that the colder the room is the harder the foam and to wait until summer to realize the full potential of the softness. All in all, I am happy with the purchase, althought it is not what I expected. Another plus is the dust/dander freedom that a conventional mattress collects. Great value for the buck, but if I could do it over, I would lay on it first.
